Upon close inspection, the black beads on the rim and the "glue" in between glass pieces are just cheap plastic. The lamp shade is too opaque that it doesn't glow when the light is turned on. It lets a small amount of light to pass through, making the lower part of the room orange, while the upper part and the ceiling are white. Weird.

The lamp is pale in comparison to a table lamp that I own. The table lamp also of colored glass design, but it looks much more brilliant when the light is on. The reason is because the table lamp mixes clear glass with colored glass elements, projecting different colors and shades on the wall.

Other than that, the rest of the lamp is decent and to be expected at this price range. The pole is made of aluminum which is painted to create faux bronze. Unfortunately the white color of the aluminum is clearly visible between the 3 sections that make up the pole. The base is probably iron, also painted to create faux bronze color, which is not even close. The lamp is heavy enough to stand solidly on its own without wobbling. There is some room under the base to retract the power cord into it for neater wiring.

It works well with compact fluorescent light bulb. There's only an on and off position on the switch near the lamp shade.

I regret not spending more money on a real Tiffany.
