We like the minimalist look of this stool. The white is bright white (not cream) as pictured. We have this exact style barstool before but the edging on the seat and seatback was not covered and the material was scraped and rubbed looking after a while. This stool has a silver protective edging on the seat to prevent this typical type of wear. The silver looks like it is chrome, but it is a dense silver plastic that, if dented, springs right back into shape. The hydralics work (the seat rises and lowers easily), the base is sturdy and supports even a large adult well, and the matte vinyl is easy to clean. We looked at dozens before we decided on this one - we bought 3 and, after 6 months, so far they are great!
